Ladies County Matches

WESTON TROPHY

The Weston Team consists of 5 players, playing singles matchplay off scratch.  All matches are played over 18 holes.  Matches are played on a Home or Away basis (determined by a Draw) on dates agreed by the participating Clubs in each Division.  All matches must be played by the end of August.

The Weston follows a league format and, at the end of the season, Clubs may be promoted or relegated – dependent upon the number of points they score in relation to the other Clubs in their Division.
The winning Captains of each Division will be invited to collect their Trophy, Plate or Bowl at the following year’s AGM

HASKELL TROPHY

A team shall consist of one pair from each Club.

This is a scratch foursomes match-play competition.  All Rounds are to be played over 36 holes to a conclusion – i.e. if a team is four up after 18 holes, they start at four up on the first hole of the second 18.

The venues will be drawn on a Home or Away basis.  There are no set date for each Round to be played – each match is by agreement between the Clubs within a specified time frame – the only exceptions are the Semi-Finals and Final, which will be held at neutral courses on specified dates, chosen by the SLCGA

STEARN TROPHY

A team shall consist of three pairs from each Club – each player having a handicap within the range of 12-20 inclusive.

This is a foursomes competition, played off 1/2 the difference of combined handicaps.
All rounds to be played over 36 holes to a conclusion, i.e. if a team is four up after eighteen holes, they start at four up on the first hole of the second eighteen.
The venues for the Preliminary, First and Second Rounds will be drawn on a home or away basis on set dates.  The Semi-Finals and Final shall be played on neutral courses, on specified dates, chosen by the SLCGA.

CRANWORTH SALVER

A Match Play competition played off handicap. A team shall consist of 6 players, selected from a squad of 8 players, each player having a handicap within the range of 21 – 30 inclusive. Current Handicap Certificates of all players must be produced on the day of play. NOTE: A Club may field a player with a handicap of 31 – 36 but she must play off 30 on the day. A Player whose handicap has dropped by no more than 2 shots below the lowest handicap limit (minimum handicap of 19) is permitted to play in later Rounds (off her current lower handicap) PROVIDED that she has already played in the Preliminary or 1st Round (whichever is her Club’s earliest Round).

SENIOR JUBILEE SHIELD

A Four-Ball Better Ball match for four pairs, played off handicap, the lowest handicap player giving strokes to the other three players based on 90% handicap difference. The handicap limit is 24, but higher handicaps may play provided that they play off 24. Each player must have reached 60 years of age on the 1st January
